Read these rules fully and completely BEFORE registering. If you break a rule, you WILL be warned. "I didn't understand," will not be accepted. If you have a question, post in the C-BOX.
There is a passcode to the ‘Open Your Eyes’ board in these rules, to make sure you read them fully. It is very easy to find, if you read them ^^ The passcode is 2 words, with a space between them.
JOINING
1. Running on Empty is an account per character site. This means each of your characters will have their own account. Please create an OOC (out of character) account first, so we can identify you. This is not required, but strongly encouraged. Then register a separate account as your character's name. The character account's username MUST be the character's name.
2. Check the BANS before creating a character. Make sure your character conforms to them.
3. BEFORE you begin roleplaying your character MUST be accepted by a STAFF MEMBER. Once you are accpeted, using your OOC account post in the Member-Character list thread so we know who plays who.
4. When posting a character biography do not put [done] in the title if finished. Simply remove the [WIP] and we will know to look it over. If your biography has not been accepted within 3 days feel free to PM a staff member to politely remind them that your character needs to be viewed.
5. For easier organization, please make sure OOC accounts are in all capitol letters and IC accounts are in all lowercase letters. Example: OOC account- THE SNAKE DOCTOR. IC account- crocifisso.
IN CHARACTER
1. Please check the list of Species before creating your character.
2. You may have as many characters as you want, as long as you keep ALL of them active, and under control. The first 3 letters are 'awa’
3. Powerplaying is where you control a character that does not belong to you, this is against the rules. God-moding is where your character is basically immortal, and is also against the rules. No being is immortal, and all powerful, except for the Gods.
4. Character deaths may be done OOC, though we prefer them to be done IC. In addition we MUST see written consent from BOTH members that the character is to be killed in role-play.
5. Nobody is perfect. So don't create a perfect character. Everyone has some type of flaw, and frankly, flaws are more fun.
6. Liquid time is allowed on Running on Empty, meaning your character can be in multiple threads at once. But PLEASE keep track of it, and try to keep it to a maximum of 3-4 threads.
7. Running on Empty is a site for canines, felines, and prey animals. You are allowed to play dogs, cats, and animals such as deer, rabbits, and any other accepted prey animal.
8. You are allowed up to two wild canines or felines. This means that you can play as many domestic dogs and cats as you want, but you can only make up to two wolves, OR up to two lynx, OR one coyote and one lynx. If you would like to play more, you may buy them from our shop. You may play as many prey animals as you wish; they are, in fact, highly encouraged.
9. When working on your character's personality, please do not list 'dominant' as a trait. Dominance is not a personality trait; it is more of a social interaction or a deference to another. You may, however, state that your character is assertive, or rarely defers to others.
OUT OF CHARACTER
DO NOT POST ANY ADULT RATED MATERIAL IN YOUR THREADS; ALL THREADS NEED TO BE PG-13
1. No fighting! Please! Keep the boards civil, and clean, respect everyone. The usual things that go without saying. Don't worry, just be happy ^^
2. Don't steal ideas, pictures, characters, plots, concepts, ANYTHING. It's WRONG. Don't use copyrighted photos, either. Photographers, and manipulaters work hard on their work, and they don't want it stolen.
3. Graphics, in signatures may not exceed 500 x 400 pixels. Graphics anywhere else around the forum may not exceed 450 pixels in width. Avatars can be a max of 150 pixels wide, and 300 pixels tall. If a board is being stretched because of your graphic, it will be removed.
4. NO pornographic images on ANY OF THE BOARDS. No links, images, and no words about it in posts. This site is rated PG-13 as accorded to Proboards TOS.
5. If you are joining a thread that is already in progress, please PM those who are involved to get permission, even if it is listed as [OPEN].
6. Though we accept all levels of roleplay here, please use proper grammar, punctuation, and capitalization in ALL applications and posts.
7. Swearing IS allowed, but do not abuse this. No one likes to read curse words every other word in a post, it is trashy, and lazy. The next set of letters is 'iting’
CHALLENGING/FIGHTING
1. High ranking positions MUST be auditioned for, and then chosen by staff. You are only allowed a total of 2 high ranking positions.
2. Before challenging, you must PM a staff member and ask them if the position is challengeable at the time. If they say yes, PM the member whose position you wish to challenge (Both their OOC account and their character who holds the position.) They have 2 weeks to respond, or the challenge is forfeit.
3. Once the challenge is accepted, the challenger posts a thread, and the challenged has 5 days to reply. The fight consists of 3 posts per character (in all. 2 attacks and 1 block) After the fight begins, each member has 3 days to respond, if not the challenge is forfeit.
4. Staff will judge the fight, and decide the winner
REGULAR FIGHTING
1. If you just want to fight for fun, PM a staff member to judge. Next set of letters is 'des’
2. The fight will consist of 3 posts per character (in all. 2 attacks, and 1 block) The aforementioned time rule does not apply here.
3. Unless a winner is decided beforehand, the staff will judge the fight and determine the winner.
[/justify]BREEDING RULES
1. If your character is large, it does not breed with a small character. Passcode letters are 'tiny'
2. Litter size, genders, and species will be decided by the staff.
3. Before breeding, you MUST fill out the form to get the stats. The form will be in the breeding board.
[/blockquote][/justify]Congratulations! You're done reading the rules, you may now register, and begin creating characters.
